Migrating projects to a new Mac (Pro plan)

So you just unboxed a shiny new Mac? Here's how to move your Kite projects to your new computer.

This applies to customers on the Pro plan–where Kite projects are stored as local files.

If you're on the Team plan, you can share projects to the cloud for easy access on your team, which often makes migration (See: https://kitevideo.crisp.help/en/article/sharing-projects-with-your-team-zv48oa/)

On the old computer, find your Kite projects folder: Mac menu bar > File > Show projects in Finder

All the .kite files in this folder are your Kite projects:

Move the Kite files over to the new computer using a USB drive, cloud storage (Google drive), or AirDrop. They are usually too big to email.
On the new Mac, install Kite, sign in, and then repeat the instructions above to find your Kite project folder on the new Mac
Drop the .kite from the old Mac into the new Mac's Kite project folder.
Restart Kite on the new Mac and you're good to go!
