Trimming, splitting & changing clip speed

In Kite you can split, trim and cut out parts of screen recordings to keep just the parts you need.


Click the scene you want to edit and look to the Scene Timeline:

To split your media, click the split media button (or CMD + K):

Each clip can now be deleted, trimmed or speed adjusted independently:

To delete a clip clips, click the clip and press the delete key or click the delete button.


The trim/resize, hover over any clip. You'll see resize handles appear on either side, click and drag to resize the clip:

To speed up or slow down a clip, click the clip. You'll see a clip speed adjustment menu appear above. Choose the speed you'd like to use (1/16X - 32X).



The little flags below the clips show the amount of time that has been removed between the clips, if any.

(The left flag in the image below indicates a split, with no footage removed. The second one indicates a split with 0.5 seconds of media trimmed out)


Clip indicators

To remove a split, simply hover over any of the trim indicator flags. You'll see it change to a remove icon. Click to remove the split and merge those two clips back into their original combined state.
