Manually moving Kite projects between computers (without Kite Team plan)
Moving project files
Currently, all Kite projects start out as local files on your computer.
If you upgrade to the Kite Team plan, you can choose to share projects with your team via the cloud with one click.
If the team plan is not a good fit, or you just need to migrate your project files to a new personal device, you can use this guide to manually move project files:
Sharing files via Google Drive or Dropbox:
In general, Kite project files can be moved around like any other file on your computer.
We highly recommend using a cloud file sharing service (Google Drive, Box, Dropbox, etc) instead of email, as the files are typically large,.
- Open your Kite projects folder: “File” > “Show projects in Finder”

You'll see a folder containing a number of .kite files. These are your projects.
Drag and drop the .kite file into your team's shared cloud drive. You can also rename them in the drive if you want.

Upload to your team's Google Drive (or similar):

Receiving a shared Kite file
First ensure that you (the person receiving the Kite file) have installed Kite and upgraded to a Kite Pro account.
Your can now download the file.
After downloading, it may appear as a zip file, just double click to unzip:

You should now see a Kite file, double click to open it.

The Kite application will open, and prompt you with a dialog asking if you want to move this file to your Kite projects folder. Click "Move to Projects and open."

You can now make changes to this file, rename it, and re-upload it to the shared drive.
